Heartbreak to Healing Hike! FAQ

What is this hike all about?

Join us to connect with others, learn practical and therapeutic ways to move on, and heal your mind, body, and spirit in the Sonoran Desert. 

Who is this hike for?

This event is for any female-identified person who wants to reflect, explore, and discover ways to heal from heartache. We use an inclusive definition of “woman” and “female,” and we welcome trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people who are female-identified.

When is the hike?

Saturday March 16, 2024 from 7:30 am-2 pm.

Where will we be hiking?

We’ll be hiking the Sarasota Loop Trail in Tucson, Arizona that offer stunning views and incredible opportunities for reflection. This is an 5-mile roundtrip hike with relatively little elevation gain on a well-maintained trail. We will be moderately paced with several stops. More information about the trail can be found here.

Where can I park?

We will be meeting at the trailhead for the Sarasota Trail in Tucson, Arizona. Parking is available in a large paved lot. To get to the parking area, enter “Sarasota Trailhead” into your GPS. There is no restroom on the trail.

What will we be doing on the hike?

While hiking (and on stops), we will engage in self-reflection/journaling, pair-shares, and group dialogues around topics such as setting purpose, personal asset mapping, and identifying achievements. We will share ideas for healing and work on developing healing manifests.

For those interested, we can meet up at a local restaurant for a “pay your way” dinner after the hike.

Who are the guides?

Rock That Relationship! podcast co-hosts, Corey Seemiller, PhD and Tracy A. Wood, JD. Both are certified life coaches and skilled hikers.

What should I wear/bring?

Sturdy hiking boots or shoes, layers, and a hat. Bring sunscreen, at least 2 liters of water (in bottles and/or Camelback), snacks, lunch, any medications you may need, journal/paper/notebook, pen/pencil, bug spray (optional), and hiking poles (optional).

Those not wearing appropriate footwear or having less than 2 liters of water will not be permitted to participate. Plan accordingly!

When is the registration deadline?

March 9, 2024. For safety and personalized attention, we are capping this event at 12, even if that occurs before March 9, 2024.

What is the cost?

Early Bird Rate-Register and pay by March 9, 2024: $45

Regular Registration Rate-Register from March 10-March 14, 2024: $55
